A memorial bench has been seriously damaged on Hartside.
The bench, at summit view, was reported to police on May 26.
Eden police said similar damage had also been caused to a picnic bench on the Fairhill Recreation ground in Alston, which was reported to police on May 22.
Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
