Teenager Olivia McKinnon has an early 18th birthday present when pop star Sam Fender called in at Tebay Services, where she works.
Sam, from North Shields, whose hits include Seventeen Going Under, was en route to Glasgow for a concert, which, along with one in Newcastle, was later cancelled due to a vocal chord injury.
Olivia, who lives at Reagill, reported that Sam had the lamb cobbler to eat and a bottle of water.
“He was so friendly and a proper Geordie,” she said.
Her mum, Michelle, added: “It’s her 18th birthday on Sunday and she’s a huge fan so it was the perfect birthday surprise for her.”
