Roads in Penrith are set to be closed from Monday.
Portland Place will be closed for five days from Monday and work is set to start on Inglewood Road from its junction with Salkeld Road for 45m south on January 17, lasting for 15 days.
Diversions will be in place for motorists, but a way for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be in place.
The alternative route for the Portland Place closure is via Meeting House Lane, Friargate, Old London Road, Roper Street, A6 Victoria Road, Bridge Lane, A66, A592 Ullswater Road, Cromwell Road, Brunswick Road, Duke Street and Stricklandgate.
The alternative route for Inglewood Road is via the unrestricted section of Salkeld Road and Scotland Road.
