Drivers in and around Eden will have four National Highways road closures to watch out for in the coming days.
Three closures will begin over the next seven days:
- M6, from 9pm June 6 to 9pm June 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, junction 39 to 41, Lane three closures for barrier inspections, Grasscutting/safety fence/drainage works.
- A66, from 8am June 9 to 8pm June 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 Heavy traffic east of Penrith due to Appleby Horse Fair.
- M6, from 9pm June 13 to 9pm July 12, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 northbound and southbound, junction 41 to 42, Lane three closures for barrier inspections, grasscutting/safety fence/drainage works.
One closure already in place is expected to carry on this week:
- A66, from 8am December 17 2021 to 8pm December 16 2022, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6, junction 40 roundabout and northbound, main carriageway and A66 Kemplay bank TM Embargo every Friday daytime.
National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in their schedule.
