A man has been taken to hospital following a suspected gas leak in Penrith.
Police said the man has been taken to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle as precaution.
Emergency services were called today, Thursday January 16, at around 7.30pm after the report of a minor gas leak in Little Dockray.
Police are assisting the fire service with road closures.
Closures are in place on Devonshire Street, Corn Market and King Street.
Emergency services are also liaising with gas engineers.
People are asked to avoid the area.
