A person was airlifted to hospital following a collision on the A66.
Emergency services were called to Penrith’s Kemplay Bank roundabout today, June 14, following the incident.
The A66 eastbound was currently blocked from the roundabout and from Junction 40.
The collision was reported at around 12.40pm and drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible as any road closures could have an impact on traffic.
The Great North Air Ambulance said its critical care team was called at around 1pm.
A spokesman said: “They assessed and treated a patient before airlifting them to hospital.”
