There promises to be plenty of quality items on display as Potfest in the Park returns to Eden this weekend at its pre-pandemic size.
Due to take place at Hutton-in-the-Forest from 28th to 30th July, Potfest in the Park will feature exhibitors from throughout the UK, France, Holland, Belgium, Germany and Italy.
They will all be showcasing their work, from contemporary styles to traditional forms, large scale sculpture to fine and intricate jewellery, domestic ware to garden centre pieces, visitors will find a diverse range of work that will captivate the imagination.
Over 100 specially selected ceramics artists will transform the parkland in front of Hutton-in-the-Forest into a vibrant three-day artisan market.
Organiser Matt Cox said: “It’s wonderful to be joined once again by a number of artists from the continent, some making a journey of over 1,500 miles to take part.
“It just goes to show what a magical event this is and how highly regarded it is across Europe.”
This year marks 30 years of the Potfest events.
What started out as a two-day market in Penrith’s cattle mart has now grown into Europe’s largest ceramics organisation. With eight shows from Brighton on the south coast to Perth in Scotland, over 500 artists taking part across those various events, Potfest in the Park is the pinnacle of those shows and renowned internationally as one of the top international ceramics events, with the Eden Valley at its heart.
An event spokesman said: “Hutton-in-the-Forest is a magnificent country house with a stunningly beautiful walled garden, wonderful woodland walks and a topiary terrace. Visitors to Potfest can also take the opportunity to join one of the guided tours of this beautiful property, the family home of Lord and Lady Inglewood.”
The event will be open to the public from 10am to 4-30pm on Friday, 28th, to Sunday, 30th July.
Tickets can be pre-booked via the website or purchased at the gate, on the day.
In total there will be 110 exhibitors, including UK exhibitors from Aberdeenshire to Devon and European exhibitors from Holland, Belgium, France, Germany and Italy.
The competition theme is Nursery Rhymes and organisers are expecting a footfall of between 4,000 to 5,000 people.
