Eden Council has apologised for the unexpected closure of Penrith’s tourist information centre.
A spokesman for Eden District Council said: “Due to unforeseen circumstances, a mixture of staff leave and illness, it has not been possible to open the tourist information centre in Penrith today.
“Telephone calls to the tourist information centre are being handled by the council’s service centre team and it’s hope that the tourist information centre will reopen tomorrow, as normal.
“We apologise for any inconvenience caused by today’s unexpected closure.”
