The Omega Proteins facility outside Penrith has announced it is fully operational again after a power cut yesterday.
A spokesman for Leo Group, which owns and operates the site, said: “We are pleased to announce that we have been fully operational again since yesterday afternoon.
“Our investigations have revealed that the problems we faced yesterday were caused by an unplanned and unforeseen voltage drop on the electricity network. This voltage drop caused problems for us and others in Penrith.
“However, following emergency works done by Electricity North West, they were able to restore power on site and since then our operations have been running without any further interruptions.”
“We would like to apologise again for the inconvenience caused and thank you for your understanding.”
