An e-scooter rider had his vehicle seized after he was spotted in the centre of Penrith driving erratically.
The man was seen on King Street, weaving in and out of pedestrians on the pavement on King Street and out into the road.
Eden police said they seized the e-scooter and the rider was reported to court for no insurance.
Eden police said: “Some pointers on e-scooters. They are classed as Personal Electric Light Vehicles (PELV) and are treated as a motor vehicle in terms of legislation.
“You can ride them on private land and property with the landowner’s permission. At present they may not be ridden on the road, pavements, parks or other places without being registered and insured. It is not currently possible to insure them so therefore they should never be used on a road or public place.
“This does not apply to electric bikes which are classed differently.”
