Penrith’s Warehouse Old Codgers Club got back to fundraising activities with a charity race night which brought in £2,200 for local causes.
The event commemorated OCC members who died in the last year — David Porter, Mike Brenan, Roy Robertson and Brian Dalton.
According to the wishes of their families, the money raised was shared between Hospice at Home, Macmillan Nurses, Eden Carers and the Great North Air Ambulance Service.
Warehouse OCC chairman Robert Bowman thanked everybody for their valued support, especially the Porter family, of Calthwaite, who organised the evening’s entertainment.
He also thanked the individual race sponsors — Jenkinson Forest Products, The Lounge, Hardy’s Tyres, Walton’s Garage, Atkinson Builders, Holland and Oxley, Porters of Calthwaite, The Pot Place and NFU Mutual.
The next OCC fundraiser will be the annual Christmas concert at Penrith Playhouse on December 19, 20 and 21.
Tuesday is already a sell out and there are a few tickets left for Sunday and Monday — contact Roger Campbell on 07731976478.
All money raised goes to local charities.
