A council is to offer drivers cashless parking on all of its car parks after teaming up with a mobile payment systems firm.
Eden District Council is partnering with PayByPhone, a leader in mobile parking payments, with the service available from April 1.
Les Clark, director of people and Place at Eden District Council said, “Following feedback from residents and visitors, we are now welcoming PayByPhone to our council-owned pay and display car parks.
“This will provide a further option, alongside the contactless card readers, to assist residents and visitors that aren’t carrying cash.”Residents and visitors to the district can pay for their parking either using the PayByPhone app, which is quick and easy to download, or by calling the PayByPhone automated payment service line.
The telephone number is displayed on the pay and display machines in the car parks or on street signage.
Pay-By-Phone parking will be available in the following Eden District Council car parks:
- Bluebell Lane Car Park, Penrith
