A man has died following a collision on the A6.
Emergency services were called to the Edge Brow junction, north of Shap, yesterday afternoon to the incident, which involved a grey Peugeot and two motorbikes.
One of the motorcyclists, a man in his 50s from Lancashire, was declared dead at the scene and the second biker, also in his 50s and from Lancashire, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
He remains in hospital this morning, in a stable condition.
Police are investigating and officers are urging anyone who saw what occurred – or the moments leading up to it – to get in touch.
They would particularly like to hear from anyone who has dash cam footage which may assist them with their investigation.
