One of the UK’s largest outdoor clothing chains is the latest addition to Penrith’s shopping experience.
Regatta opened on Saturday in the Angel Square unit which was vacated by Dorothy Perkins about three years ago.
It is being managed by Angela Walby who was formerly manager of Dorothy Perkins from 2000 to 2006.
The brand is best known for its range of outdoor products including waterproof jackets, fleeces and footwear.
Assistant manager Della Byers, of Carlisle, said: “Saturday was crazy. It was so good.
“We have been getting a lot of comments saying how nice the store is and that it’s good to have another store opening in Penrith.
“We’ve got loads of opening offers, which are really amazing. There’s quite a lot that is 70 per cent off.”
Della added: “I think it is going to be good come the summer because (Penrith) is a gateway to the Lakes.
Liam King, a senior sales assistant, said: “We needed something in town like this.
“A lot of people have been coming in and saying that it is nice to see it operating again.”
