Penrith will be holding late night shopping nights on Thursday evenings until 7pm in the run-up to Christmas, starting from tonight.
Some stores are also extending their Monday to Saturday hours too.
Late night shopping will run weeklyuntil Christmas Eve, the town centre Christmas lights will be illuminating Penrith and a range of shops will be open until 7pm.
Penrith Business Improvement District manager Philippa Ball said: “You can be assured of relaxed and safe Christmas shopping in Penrith throughout December.
“The Thursday late night opening means shoppers can enjoy our sparkling Christmas lights and the Penrith angels, which are bringing a smile to old and young alike.
“We know that Christmas shopping will be a bit different this year, but we are delighted that Cumbrians are joining in with the #ShopLocal campaign and supporting Penrith’s shops and eateries as well as enjoy the sparkly Christmas lights.”
