This weekend sees the start of the 147th Keswick Convention which will bring thousands of people to Keswick and the surrounding area

It will be held once again at the newly-refurbished pencil factory and Rawnsley sites and the theme will be Grateful.

As in recent years, the afternoons are being largely kept clear of events so that conventioners can enjoy what Keswick and the surrounding area has to offer.

Organisers also point out that the convention will be using many local services including technical and catering.

This year a community relations phone line has been set up and is available on 017687 21274. This will be for people to raise concerns and Keswick Ministries says it will do its best to assist.

James Robson, ministry director of Keswick Ministries, said: “We are delighted to be working with so many local services and suppliers within Keswick and the surrounding area for the Convention, and are pleased with the ongoing relationship which Keswick Ministries has with many local businesses throughout the year.”

He added that Keswick Ministries also produces a virtual Enjoy Keswick guide in recognition of the great variety of businesses and activities which Keswick has to offer.

The guide showcases a range of local services for both conventioners and year-round visitors, from shopping and activities through to food and accommodation.

The programme for this year’s convention features morning Bible readings, evening celebrations, Keswick lectures, a selection of seminars, as well as programmes for families and young people.

Larger gatherings will be held in the main tent on site while the pencil factory will host the Keswick4Kids morning sessions, youth groups and seminars throughout the week.

Main meetings will be streamed online and be available on catch-up via the convention website.
