Firefighters were called out to tackle a large blaze near Low Hesket.
The incident, on Friday at about 3.25pm, involved two wooden outbuildings with tin roofs, containing tools and gardening equipment on Barrock Park in Southwaite.
Crews from Carlisle East and Carlisle West brought the fire under control using water and a compressed air foam system.
Crews remained on scene for about two hours.
A spokesman said due to the deep seated nature of the fire, it was expected to steam off for some time, and the night shift returned that night to do a final check.
