Penrith Fire Station has published photos from a house fire at Great Strickland – and revealed it took seven hours to tackle.
At around 8.20pm on Tuesday, both of Penrith’s fire engines, plus crews from Shap and Carlisle, were called to the building fire, which involved the roof space.
A statement from Penrith Fire Station said: “Due to the fire being in the roof, Carlisle’s specialist aerial ladder platform was request to assist tackling the fire.
“Firefighters created a fire break in the roof to prevent the fire from spreading to the unaffected areas. Crews were in attendance for seven hours.”
