We’ve been at Appleby Horse Fair this year and here are a selection of photos from the event so far.
The major incident to happen so far is the death of a stallion on the first day – the RSPCA and police are investigating and it has been condemned by Gypsy leaders.
Chief Inspector Rob Melloy, of the RSPCA, said: “The majority of people here are absolutely brilliant at looking after their horses, it’s just a minority of people, either through ignorance or malice, who mistreat their animals.”
