A HGV driver has been stopped by police after breaching the 18 tonne weight restriction on the A685 through Kirkby Stephen.
Eden police said the driver of the 44 tonne HGV was issued with a traffic offence report.
The vehicle was travelling through Kirkby Stephen on route from Preston to Richmond.
“This is a breach of the 18 tonne weight restriction,” said Eden police.
A plea was issued to drivers of HGVs to travel via Junction 40 of the M6 at Penrith and then use the A66, rather using the A685 through Kirkby Stephen, which is subject to a lorry ban.
