Helen Skelton has topped the Strictly Come Dancing leader board and impressed the judges with her latest dance.
The duo performed a lively Charleston to the Blue Peter theme tune and the judges showered the star with praise, calling the dance ‘absolutely outstanding’, an ‘absolute delight’ and her ‘best dance ever.”
During the dance, the pair performed a series of impressive lifts that wowed the crowd while smiling throughout the entire routine.
Craig Revel Horwood added that it was the best he had seen the Countryfile star dance, and that the pair had taken on some really difficult Charleston dance moves.
The feedback was followed with a whopping score of 35, landing them first on the leader board, a week after they were fourth from the bottom with a score of 29.
After the performance, Helen thanked her family and the colleagues she had worked with on Blue Peter while she was a presenter, for their support.
Before the pair took to the dance floor, Helen recalled some of the previous challenges she had taken on as a Blue Peter presenter, including becoming the first person to bike to the South Pole.
She said: “Obviously the theme tune means a lot to me it was a defining chapter of my life. I was Blue Peter presenter number 32 for seven years, what a total honour and a privilege.”
The former Appleby Grammar School student also attempted another world record for the most Charleston swivels in 30 seconds with the help of two current Blue Peter presenters.
