Hairdressers Amanda Williams and Tina Jessop are set to embark on an exciting journey as they open their new high street salon — House of Hair.
Amanda and Tina, both qualified hairdressers since 2007, are gearing up to officially unveil House of Hair in Penrith’s King Street. The dynamic duo have a collective 36 years of hairdressing expertise between them.
Trained through renowned local providers, Amanda honed her skills with RWP while Tina polished her craft at Carlisle College. Both embarked on their journey as apprentices and have since built a strong friendship that has stood the test of time. Despite diverging paths, with Amanda spending 18 years perfecting her artistry at a Penrith salon and Tina venturing into self-employment, their shared passion for hairdressing has remained unwavering.
As they take the step into self-employment, Amanda and Tina are motivated by their vision for a friendly, unisex salon that emphasises the customer experience. “We are so excited to be starting this new chapter in our careers,” said Amanda. “We started together as apprentices 18 years ago and have been friends ever since. We are looking forward to this next step together as the time just feels right to go out on our own.
“We are both really passionate about the hair industry and share the same vision of where we want to go. When we first saw our new premises, I just knew it was the right move.”
With their vast experience, both stylists are well-versed in hair extensions, while Tina brings the added expertise of wig making. The salon is set to stand out by offering a colour range with zero per cent ammonia content, a less damaging option for hair health.
Future aspirations include the incorporation of a nail technician and adding a skilled professional makeup artist to their team. The duo plan to introduce a subscription service for blow dries, providing an affordable and convenient option for weekly hair maintenance.
The spirit of their enterprise is also captured by their commitment to an inviting atmosphere. Amanda and Tina want clients to not only leave with stunning hair but also with a sense of enjoyment and comfort from their salon experience. Though launching with just the two of them initially, the pair envision expanding the team in the future.
To celebrate and introduce their new venture to the community, an open day is scheduled for Monday, 28th August, from 1-4pm. Attendees can expect a warm welcome, a glass of bubbly, and the chance to explore the salon’s offerings.
With years of shared experience, a passion for their craft, and a vision of excellence, Amanda and Tina are hoping to make a lasting mark on Penrith’s hairdressing landscape.
