Eight fixed penalty notices were issued by police on Saturday night to a group — in breach of COVID-19 regulations — who were found to be off-roading at Hartside.
A spokesman for Cumbria Constabulary said: “Police were initially contacted by a member of the public who suspected quad bikes had been stolen in the area.
“Officers attended and, whilst the bikes were found to be legally owned, the group — who were all from the Carlisle area and of numerous different households — were found to be in breach of the current COVID-19 regulations and were issued fixed penalty notices.”
