Police are investigating after graffiti was daubed on a Cumbrian castle.
The graffiti was found on Brougham Castle, near Penrith, and is believed to have happened on February 24.
It will need specialist treatment to remove the graffiti due to the age of the stonework, Cumbria police said.
Police are appealing for information.
