Firefighters used an aerial ladder platform to bring a fire under control in Penrith’s Salkeld Road.
Emergency services were alerted in the early hours of Sunday morning to attend a fire in a derelict building which had spread to its roof.
Fire engines from Penrith, Lazonby and Shap went to the scene, along with firefighters from Carlisle East Fire Station who attended with their aerial ladder platform.
Carlisle East Fire Station said a “well developed fire was discovered” following the call at about 1am.
After the blaze was brought under control, crews were on scene until about 5am.
