Firefighters attended a bedroom blaze at a farm on Caldbeck Common on Bank Holiday Monday.
Two elderly occupants of the property evacuated themselves when the fire spread from a chimney into the bedroom shortly after 1.30pm.
Firefighters used two hose reel jets, four breathing apparatus, small tools and two thermal imaging cameras to extinguish the blaze.
Two Keswick firefighters accessed the loft by cutting through a ceiling to check on the fire’s spread. The blaze was mainly confined to an airing cupboard.
Crews from Keswick, Cockermouth, Wigton and Aspatria were in attendance for about two hours.
