
Firefighters released a cow trapped in a slurry pit in Eden.
Penrith’s two fire engines were called to a farm in Hesket Newmarket at around 9.30am this morning, Janaury 15.
A crew from Wigton was also called out and firefighters released the animal.
It was the end of a busy start to the weekend for the Penrith crews.
On Friday night, they responded to Hunter Hall in Penrith to an automatic fire alarm, at 6.30am this morning they were asked to help paramedics gain entry to a property in the town and at 8.30am, crews were at Penrith parkrun, promoting the service’s recruitment drive.
