Firefighters spent six hours tackling a blaze at a Cumbrian timber firm’s headquarters.
A fire broke out yesterday Wednesday May 28, at what is believed to be A. W. Jenkinson’s Forest Products yard, at Clifton, near Penrith.
Motorists reported seeing black smoke billowing from the location.
A spokesman at the time said: “Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service was called at 3.17pm yesterday, May 28, to a large fire involving machinery at a commercial property on the A6 towards Clifton.
“Five fire engines and special appliances attended and crews used three breathing apparatus, a main jet, a thermal imaging camera, and an aerial ladder platform to bring the incident under control.
“Crews remained on scene for about six hours.”
