An Eden village has come out on top in a survey of the best UK holiday destinations to relax and unwind.
The data from I’m Insured took the UK locations appearing in Tripadvisor search results for the term “relaxing”, and ranked them on a number of factors to
reveal the best places in the UK for a quiet, relaxing, wellness break.
The results placed Watermillock at number one.
The I’m Insured research took into account the destination’s population to see how remote it is, whether the air is fresh and how much green space there is to enjoy.
The analysis also looked at the lack of signal to make it easier to digitally detox, the number of wellness activities nearby, and the number of rentable two person Airbnbs with a hot tub.
Sitting close to Ullswater, Watermillock boasts unrivalled scenery and walking opportunities in a setting of remote tranquillity.
Coming in 11th on the list was another Cumbrian destination — Bowness-on-Windermere.
Also making the top sopts were Killin, Stirling; Thurlestone, Devon; Tortworth, Gloucestershire; St Dogmaels, Pembrokeshire; Taplow, Buckinghamshire; Wyboston, Bedfordshire; and Otley, West Yorkshire.
