A convicted Eden-based sex offender has admitted more crimes ahead of a sentencing hearing which is scheduled to take place in front of a judge next month.
Late last year, 22-year-old Jordan Goddard was punished at Carlisle Crown Court for accessing illegal images of children.
Goddard was ordered to co-operate with the probation service in a bid to mend his ways, and also carry out unpaid work.
He was also made subject to the strict terms of a sexual harm prevention order which was requested and imposed in an attempt to curb his online offending. But within weeks, on January 10, Goddard was back in court.
He indicated guilty pleas to flouting the order by possessing a laptop he had failed to declare to police, and also one charge of attempted sexual communication with a child.
Both offences were committed on January 10 and his case was sent for sentence to the crown court.
Background reports, including one prepared by a psychiatrist, were ordered ahead of a hearing on April 12 and Goddard was remanded in custody.
However, after he came to the attention of police on January 9, further investigation work was carried out and, as a result, new charges have now been brought.
At Carlisle Magistrates’ Court, Goddard, of Castlegate, Penrith, admitted four additional offences which were also committed on January 9.
These were a further order breach by possessing an SD card without notifying police as he was under an obligation to do; and also three charges relating to the making of indecent photographs of children.
Magistrates sent Goddard’s case to the crown court and a further probation service pre-sentence report was ordered.
Goddard is due to appear in front of a judge on April 12 and remains remanded in custody until then.
