Eden roadworks: 11 for drivers to avoid

Eden’s motorists will have 11 sets of roadworks to avoid on the National Highways network this week.

And two of them are expected to cause delays of between 10 and 30 minutes.

Seven sets of roadworks are likely over the next two weeks:

  • A66, from 8am August 1 to 5pm August 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 Troutbeck westbound and eastbound, diversion route for SU works.
  • M6, from 10pm August 1 to 6am August 2, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 41 to 42, Lane closure for Construction improvement/Upgrade.
  • M6, from 8pm August 10 to 6am August 11, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 southbound, junction 39 to 40, Lane closure with switching for Construction improvement/Upgrade.
  • M6, from 8pm August 11 to 6am August 12, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 southbound, junction 40 – 39 lane closures due to road markings.
  • M6, from 8pm August 12 to 6am August 13, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 southbound, junction 36 to 45 – Lane closure for Construction improvement/Upgrade.
  • M6, from 8pm August 15 to 6am August 16, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 southbound, J40 to 39 – Lane closure for Construction improvement/Upgrade.
  • A66, from 8pm August 15 to 5am August 20, slight delays (under 10 minutes): A66 clockwise Kemplay Rbt to Kemplay Bank – Lane closure Switching for carriageway – Reconstruction/Renewal.

Four sets of roadworks are already in place and are expected to carry on this week:

  • M6, from 8pm July 25 to 6am August 25, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 36 to 45 – Lane closure for Construction improvement/Upgrade.
  • M6, from 8pm July 26 to 6am August 26, slight delays (under 10 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 36 to 45 – Lane closure for Construction improvement/Upgrade.
  • A69, from 8pm July 31 to 6am September 3, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6 northbound, junction 40 to 42, Lane closure for Construction improvement/Upgrade.
  • A66, from 8am December 17 2021 to 8pm December 16 2022, moderate delays (10-30 minutes): M6, junction 40 Roundabout and northbound, main carriageway and A66 Kemplay bank TM Embargo every Friday daytime.

National Highways is responsible for maintaining motorways and major A-roads, so closures of smaller roads will not be included in its schedule.
