A Penrith petrol station is only selling diesel today as motorists in the town with a keen eye on petrol prices have been filling up on its regular unleaded.
The price of unleaded petrol at the Hills garage on Scotland Road is 184.9p per litre – 7p cheaper than the same fuel at Morrisons supermarket.
Michael Gatty, a director of Hills, said they are hoping for a delivery of regular unleaded petrol as soon as possible.
Mr Gatty said they believe they have a competitive and correct price for their fuel.
He said buying fuel involved a complicated formula, which rises and falls, and depends on when petrol stations buy it and how they buy it.
