The driver of a car involved in a crash with a lorry on the A66 remains in a critical condition in hospital.
Emergency services attended a two vehicle crash near Kemplay Bank roundabout in Penrith shortly before 4.30pm on Tuesday.
The crash involved a silver Ford c-max and a white Scania HGV.
The driver of the Ford, a 76-year-old man from Wigan, was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary and later transferred to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle. He sustained serious chest injuries and his condition is described as critical but stable.
The driver of the Scania, which was carrying a log cabin, is a 29-year-old man from Alston. He was not injured.
