A dog has been rescued after it had a seizure on a fell near Penrith.
Penrith Mountain Rescue Team were called out on Saturday September 28 at 10.15am to Cross Fell, by a lone walker whose six-year-old Spaniel had suffered a seizure while descending Cross Fell.
When the team arrived on the scene, the pair were high up and on rough ground and the Spaniel was unresponsive and very cold.
Despite the location – the team were able to video call their local vets to get help and advice.
The dog was stretchered back down the fell by the team and then taken to the vets for treatment.
The team said that the following day they were told the dog was back conscious and eating following treatment.
The rescue involved 10 team members and lasted five hours.
