A cyclist in his 60s is in a serious condition after a crash in Kirkby Thore.
It happened on an unnamed road near Cross End, Kirkby Thore at about 10.20am on Friday (February 25).
North West Ambulance Service and an air ambulance attended and treated the cyclist – a man in his 60s– for serious injuries, before transporting him to James Cook Hospital, Middlesbrough, where he remains in a serious condition.
The driver of the Nissan, a man from the local area, was uninjured.
The road remained closed for several hours while a full forensic investigation was carried out.
The collision involved a Nissan Nivara and a cyclist and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Police have already spoken to a number of witnesses but are asking anyone who was in the area and may have seen either the Nissan or cyclist to contact them.
