Firefighters were called out in the early hours to tackle a small blaze – at a Cumbrian fire station.
Crews were called to Lazonby’s station at 12.40am today, Thursday February 22.
The station is an on-call facility and not manned 24/7.
Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “The small fire was contained to one room used as office space and was extinguished by firefighters on the scene.
“It is believed the fire was caused by an electrical fault which is being investigated further.
“There was nobody in the building at the time of the fire and there was no damage to the fire appliance or equipment housed there.”
The service added that its continuity plan has taken immediate effect to make sure there is no impact on the cover the on-call crew can provide to the community.
