Cumbrian Fell ponies star alongside the Queen in birthday portrait

The Queen’s birthday photo also features two Cumbrian stars.

The portrait, released by the Windsor Horse Show to mark the monarch’s 96th birthday, features Bybeck Nightingale and Bybeck Katie – her beloved Cumbrian Fell ponies.

They are from the Tebay stud and in July last year, her head groom Terry Pendry bought Bybeck Tiffany Too at a disposal sale.

The Queen has long been a fan of Fell ponies and is patron of the breed society.
