A cow has been rescued from a sink hole near Nenthead thanks to firefighters.
Crew members from Carlisle East Fire Station were called at 10am today, Saturday September 28, to a farmer who’s cow was found stuck at the bottom of a sink hole near Nenthead.
The young bullock – named Cinnamon – was well and truly trapped and crews had to work with the farmer and heavy plant operators to dig around the animal.
The fire crew then used specialist animal rescue equipment to pull Cinnamon out of the sink hole.
Cinnamon is now safe and serious injury free thanks to the team’s efforts.
Carlisle East’s appliance and Enhanced Rescue Unit were called to the incident and Lazonby’s appliance was used.
