A convicted sex offender has admitted more crimes — just weeks after he appeared at the same court and was sentenced for a previous offence.
Jordan Goddard, 22, was ordered to work with the probation service and carry out unpaid work by magistrates in Carlisle on December 6.
At an earlier court hearing Goddard had admitted failing to comply with strict sex offender notification requirements having not informed police that he had moved address within the specified three-day timeframe.
These had been imposed in October at Carlisle Crown Court as part of his punishment for accessing illegal images of children — including 65 classed in category A, the most serious.
In addition Goddard, previously of Tebay and now of Castlegate, Penrith, had also been ordered by a judge to observe the strict conditions of a sexual harm prevention order. This had been put in place in a bid to curb his illegal online activity.
But Goddard has admitted two more offences during another appearance at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court.
These were attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child; and breaching the order by failing to both notify police of a laptop in his possession and make the device available for inspection when requested.
Both these offences were committed on Monday of this week.
Goddard was brought to court in custody. His case was committed by magistrates to the crown court. He is due to appear there in front of a judge on February 14 and was remanded into custody in the meantime after an application for bail was refused.
