A centenarian this week took centre stage in the latest development of a firm he joined more than 70 years ago.
Retired vet Jimmy Frame cut the first sod to mark the start of work on the new Frame & Swift veterinary centre at Carleton, Penrith, which will incorporate dedicated equine facilities, with stabling and operating theatre together with a separate large animal client entrance.
Pet owners will benefit from a large, spacious waiting room and there will be more consultation rooms along with greatly enhanced surgical and medical facilities.
All of this will be in sharp contrast to the surgery in Angel Lane, Penrith, which Jimmy joined in the early 1950s to work with Fred Duncan.
The new centre at Carleton will house 20 vets and it is anticipated it will open in the autumn of 2025.
