
A man’s body has been recovered from Ullswater today.
Emergency services were called to the Mossdale Bay area this morning after reports that a man had got into difficulty in the water.
Police were made aware of the incident by North West Ambulance Service colleagues at around 9.30am today, March 21.
Mountain rescue teams, Whitehaven Coastguard Rescue Team and both the Great North Air Ambulance and a Coastguard helicopter searched for the man.
He was found at around 2.25pm.

The man’s family have been informed of developments, Cumbria police said.
The constabulary added: “While the incident is not being treated as suspicious at this time, an investigation is ongoing as to the circumstances leading up to the man’s death. “

The Great North Air Ambulance Service said: “Our critical care team was activated at 9.28am to an incident at Ullswater.
“We had a paramedic and doctor on board our aircraft and they arrived on scene at 9.40am.”
