Bids for a popular family-run Penrith pub fell short at an auction last week.
The Agricultural Hotel on Castlegate was listed as lot 46 with a guide price of between £250,000 and £350,000.
Bidding at the Halston Hotel in Carlisle on Thursday, May 25th, reached £290,000 but with no further bids the PFK-owned property remains unsold.
The pub, leased by Gary and Wendy Bowden, ceases trading on Sunday, 4th June, after 20 years under family management. Real ale campaigners have applied for the pub to be made an asset of community value.
