A device to help banish boy racers from the streets of Alston and Melmerby could be installed.
Eden police said they have been told by residents in the area that noise was an issue, and as a result, they were considering installing a monitoring device.
But they want to know what people think about the idea.
Eden police said: “This device captures evidence for investigation purposes, of vehicles that exceed the legal noise level limit.
“We are looking for your views, as local residents, on if you would support a trial of this equipment.”
