Bad weather has forced contractors to postpone roadworks on the A592.
It is part of the final phases of the £7.4 million project to resurface the A592 from Windermere to Penrith.
Workers were due to resurface the road from Brackenrigg to Waterfoot junction earlier this week – but heavy rain meant they could not.
Instead, contractors Hanson plan to start work tomorrow – Friday, January 13 and continue on Monday and Tuesday, subject to the weather.
The road will be closed with work taking place between 8.30am and 4.30pm. Outside of these working hours, access will be maintained where possible, but vehicles do so at their own risk.
Local businesses will be open as usual during the work.
Hanson will then move onto the final phase of the work – Waterfoot junction to Rheged.
Work will begin on Thursday January 19 until Tuesday February 7, weather permitting.
The road will be closed with work taking place between 8.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday. Outside of the working hours, access will be maintained where possible, but vehicles do so at their own risk.
