Our message is simple: In February 2021 we got a fibre broadband supplier, B4RN, on side to submit a project which, because of our voucher support, was viable and which would cover the whole of the parish including the more remote areas.
They were led to expect a Government decision on their plans by end of March 2021. It is now the middle of July and they, and us, are still waiting.
What we are simply asking for is a decision on the B4RN PRP (the plans for the fibre network) which is long overdue.
We met our side of the obligation by generating support for our chosen supplier It is not unreasonable, after a delay over three months, to expect the government to meet theirs.
On the forum, one person posted they had written to their MP and Boris Johnson.
They are right to remind people that as individuals everyone has the right in a democracy to lobby their elected leaders be this the Prime Minister or their local MP, in our case Dr Neil Hudson.
As the Steering Group, we have been constantly doing this on behalf of the project by supporting Neil Hudson’s interest and urging him to act for us.
I am sure that he would be equally responsive should his individual constituents also voice their concerns.
