Artists working in empty units in Devonshire Arcade, Penrith will be holding an Art Trail event on Saturday from 11am to 4pm.
The artists include Ceri Allen, Christine Lowthian and designer Molly Sellars who took up the spaces provided by Hypha Studios, a charity which links artists and creatives with empty sites around the country.
Visitors to Penrith can take a tour of the exhibitions and open studios in the arcade followed by refreshments at The Lemon Tree café with 10 per cent off vouchers from the artists’ studios.
New artwork produced during the residency will be on view alongside tote bags, cards and prints available for sale.
The event is also an opportunity to sign up for workshops and chat to the artists about their work.
Ceri is an established artist in Cumbria who primarily explores the theme of urban life.
Christine has just completed her MA in contemporary fine art. Her practice centres around contemporary debates about the human condition in the 21st century and the way that we might orient ourselves in the future.
Molly is a young British fashion designer, originally from the Lake District. Her work reflects her interest in outdoor clothing whilst highlighting sustainability.
The artists moved into the arcade in November.
