Alston’s High Plaice fish and chip shop will close at the end of the week.
In a statement on social media, owner Sean Addison said: “Due to the cost of living crisis this unfortunately will be our last week at The High Plaice.
“We would like to thank all our customers from these last three years your support has meant everything to us.”
The fish and chip shop has been a feature of Alston’s Front Street since 1975.
