One person has died and two others airlifted to hospital in critical condition following a collision on the A66.
Police were called to the incident at around 12.15 today. The collision involved two cars and a HGV.
The road was closed between Kemplay and Brough and reopened at 10pm.
A police spokesman said: “One person died at the scene of the collision, two have been airlifted to hospital in critical conditions and two further people have minor injuries.”
