Cumbria police have been granted permission to further detain £8,500 in cash seized from a Penrith man.
The application was made against Sean Askins (45), Huntley Avenue, at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
Cumbria Constabulary seized the money on 10th August under the Anti-terrorism, Crime and Security Act 2001 and have been granted a further six months to detain the cash under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
Askins was not present at court for the hearing.
