Plans for a 16-home estate in Calthwaite by Penrith-based Genesis Homes have been given the go-ahead by Eden District Council.
Pattison Gardens, on land to the west of Gillian Well, will consist of three-, four- and five-bedroom homes and three-bedroom bungalows.
Work is due to start in April, with a sales launch scheduled for the summer.
John Blue, land director for Genesis Homes, said: “This new development will provide high specification homes, built in a desirable village where people will enjoy living.
“A high-quality building design is an intrinsic part of our culture, and we look forward to delivering this scheme and building a new community along the way. As well as providing new homes, new developments bring economic and employment benefits to local communities.
“We look forward to getting this proposal underway and will continue to work with council officials and local contractors to deliver another successful venture to add to the growing Genesis Homes portfolio.”
The development includes four affordable homes offered at 60 per cent of open market value.
